Coolant is going somewhere and heat is sometimes on and sometimes off...and the gas tank is leaking. Wonderful.

I think the HHR is sharp looking,and it does have more room. If you are talking about buying new Chrysler's lifetime drivetrain warranty might be something to consider. It doesn't cover everything but it might give you peace of mind if you are planning to keep it till the wheels fall off like I do. What does Bobble Dog think, he will probably spend more time in it than you.
