After calling and telling me she was backing out of the "Stupid Nancy" birthday party (yes, there's a story there), she called me back and said this (in a almost too serious voice):
Susie: I forgot to tell you about Jamie.
Me: What... (expecting impending doom from the tone of her voice)
Susie: Well, Thursday she finished her Masters...
Me: Yeah.
Susie: And Friday she closed on her house...
Me: Yeah.
(Insert dramatic pause...where people like me fly thru 100's of scenarios in a few seconds)
Susie (dropping the serious tone): And Friday nite she got engaged!
Relief!
And smiles.
And laughter.
So, Triple Congratulations, Jamie and Ryan!
